SUMMARY:17th Annual Law Enforcement Breakfast
DESCRIPTION:The Wisconsin Professional Police Association will host a pancake breakfast on Friday\, May 19\, to welcome all active and retired law enforcement officers to Madison for the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony. \nThe breakfast will be held before the vehicle procession to the State Capitol to honor Wisconsin’s fallen officers. We will begin serving at 9:00 am and offer the breakfast to all law enforcement officers and their families attending the ceremony. The breakfast will be free of charge; however\, there will be an opportunity for those attending to make a contribution to The Wisconsin Law Enforcement Museum of Valor. The WPPA has committed to making this an annual event to recognize all Wisconsin law enforcement officers—active and retired\, as well as those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

SUMMARY:National Police Week 2023
DESCRIPTION:National Police Week occurs every May\, and in 2023 we will be commemorating it with live\, in-person events. The National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum will hold ceremonies\, including the 35th Annual Candlelight Vigil\, to honor the fallen officers whose names have recently been added to the Memorial. \nThe 35th Annual Candlelight Vigil will be held on Saturday\, May 13. \nIn 1962\, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls\, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962\, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. \nNational Police Week is a collaborative effort of many organizations dedicated to honoring America’s law enforcement community.

SUMMARY:Police Unity Tour 2023 Ride
DESCRIPTION:The primary purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty. The secondary purpose is to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum. \nIn May 1997 the Police Unity Tour was organized with the hope of bringing public awareness of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty and to honor their sacrifices. We started in 1997 with 18 riders on a four-day fund-raising bicycle ride from Florham Park\, NJ\, to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington\, D.C.\, which raised $18\,000.00.
