Museum

Registered with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions and the United States Internal Revenue Service as a not-for-profit charitable entity, the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Museum of Valor will promote public interest, awareness, knowledge, and education about the law enforcement profession by sharing the historical accounts of bravery that the Wisconsin Professional Police Association began recognizing so many years ago, in addition to those that the Museum’s Board of Trustees will select every year hereafter.

As a charitable, not-for-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, the Museum of Valor will rely on the support from Wisconsin-based corporations and foundations, gift shop sales, and the invaluable support of individuals who wish to see this one-of-a-kind institution established. For more information on how you can support the Museum’s fundraising efforts, contact the Museum’s Chief Executive Officer, Jim Palmer, at 608.273.3840, or by e-mail at [email protected].

In addition to supporting the Museum’s operations, we also intend to support a scholarship program, public service messaging about public safety, and relief efforts aimed at assisting the families of officers struck by tragedy.

The Museum also plans to include:

Modest theater highlighting the Museum’s honorees, public safety messaging, and the invaluable assistance of our founding partners and sponsors
A squad car simulator booth
A police motorcycle photo booth
An interactive bomb robot
Various historical law enforcement artifacts

The below watercolor design renderings help illustrate the vision behind our plans to honor Wisconsin’s law enforcement heroes. As depicted in these renderings, our plans now include an End of Watch Memorial Hall, to complement the solemn distinction bestowed upon the brave officers who have died in the line of duty and are recognized on the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial. This space will not only offer MoV visitors with a unique venue in which to learn more about the officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, but it will also provide the loved ones of those courageous men and women with innovative ways to add additional information to our technological format.

Whether in the form of photographs or details about officers’ lives, family members or former law enforcement colleagues will have numerous ways to help us more effectively share the stories of the brave officers honored in our Memorial Hall. More specifically, our plans will provide them with the ability to leave welcome messages and actually become a part of the exhibit! Without a doubt, the MoV’s End of Watch Memorial Hall will serve as a one-of-a-kind feature to honor the law enforcement profession and complement the wonderful Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial.
